A new year and a new outlook! Recently they took the plunge and removed the 70's panneling and popcorn ceiling!! This was a huge undertaking and unlike the makeover shows it took more than a couple of days. I drove down for a 3 day weekend to prime and paint after the demo. After I left they moved ahead with crown molding and new carpet. Next came some new furniture. Once the process is started it's amazing how dingy and tired the old things look.
Now that the new colors were in place now for new art work. The new furniture had reds so I new what I painted must have red in it. I am a sentimental person so I also wanted to paint something meaningful, not abstract.
I prefer painting landscapes so that was a natural choice for me. I have a passion for wildflowers and remembered having pictures of my daughter in a field of of poppies that my late Grandmother Cottrell had planted.
